It was always going to be tough to hang up the fire suit after 30 successful years in Top Methanol Dragster competition. Therefore it will come as no surprise to many that Dave Wilson simply couldn't do it!
The five-time FIA European Top Methanol Champion had a great year in 2011 finishing runner-up and setting new records along the way with his incredible 5.2 second ET in Tierp. The success of last season meant that Wilson was left with some serious decisions to make. The complete operation was for sale and a potential buyer had been found but a swift change of heart meant that Wilson would do battle over the quarter mile for at least one more year.

With a limited budget for 2012, early plans are to run at the Santa Pod Raceway - Main Event and the Sweden Internationals at the fabulous Tierp Arena in Sweden. However, subject to further sponsorship the situation could very well change.

"It's been a crazy off-season for me! First of all the car was going and then it wasn't and I then found myself thinking what have I done?! Having got over that I knew I had to be fully committed once again, regain my focus and prepare for 2012. Sadly things have not worked out the way we had hoped with sponsors but we're ready to do battle at the first two races and we'll go from there!" Dave commented.
Dave Wilson will be at Santa Pod Raceway for the FIA Main Event - June 1st-4th and the Tierp Arena Sweden Internationals - June 14th-17th.the section below.
